基盤教育センターは、2026年2月19日、インドネシアのプレジデント大学 社会科学・教育学部（President University, Faculty of Social Science and Education）と学術交流に関する協定を締結しました。

基盤教育センターでは、2024年度より国際環境工学部の英語科目において、プレジデント大学の学生とオンラインによる異文化交流の授業を実施してきました。授業では、お互いの文化紹介や専門分野に関連したプレゼンテーションを行い、双方の学生が積極的に学び合う機会となっています。

2025年度に実施したプレゼンテーションの一例として、本学の学生は北九州市における公害克服の歴史や環境への取り組みを紹介しました。一方、プレジデント大学の学生は授業で取り組んだビジネス・プロジェクトを発表し、実践的な学びを共有しました。

こうした交流を通じて、両大学の学生から「視野が広がった」「異文化理解が深まった」といった声が多く寄せられ、意義深い学習機会となりました。

基盤教育センターは、今後もプレジデント大学との異文化交流の授業を継続するために、協定を締結いたしました。こうした取り組みを通じて、世界に目を向け、国際社会で活躍できる人材の育成に取り組んでまいります。

Center for Fundamental Education Signs Agreement on Academic Collaboration and Exchange with Faculty of Social Science and Education, President University (Indonesia)

On February 19, 2026, the Center for Fundamental Education signed an academic exchange agreement with the Faculty of Social Science and Education at President University in Indonesia. The agreement is intended to further strengthen academic collaboration between the two institutions.

Since the 2024 academic year, the Center for Fundamental Education has offered online intercultural exchange classes in English for students in the Faculty of Environmental Engineering. Through these classes, students from both universities have introduced their respective cultures and delivered presentations related to their academic fields, fostering active mutual learning.

In the 2025 academic year, as an example of these recent class activities, our students gave presentations on Kitakyushu's history of overcoming pollution and its local environmental initiatives. Meanwhile, students from President University presented business projects they had developed in their coursework, sharing practical insights and experiences. Students from both institutions reported that the exchange was meaningful, as it broadened their perspectives and deepened their understanding of different cultures.

The Center for Fundamental Education entered into this agreement in order to continue the intercultural exchange classes with President University. Through these initiatives, the Center will keep its focus on cultivating globally minded individuals who are prepared to contribute to the international community.
