環境を実感しましょう!そうすれば、環境の中での自然や生物の営みが良くわかります。私たちの研究室では、環境計測や試料収集などの野外活動と、化学分析や生物機能測定などの実験室操作を並行して行うことにより、幅広く環境と生物とのかかわりについて解明することを目的とした研究を行っています。

求められる資質:野外活動では共同作業での協調性が求められる一方で、実験室では忍耐強い個人プレーが求められます。従って、この両者が抵抗無く受け入れられることが資質として求められます。

得られる技能:野外での環境計測・現場試料(水・土壌)の化学分析・生物群集調査・環境アセスメント調査

進路:一般的な化学分析のトレーニングを積むことで、広く化学関連業界で活躍できます。また、野外調査技術や生物調査の経験を積むことで、専門性を要求される環境計測・環境アセスメント業界にも道が広がります。行政関係では、環境、衛生、化学試験などの他、土木、農政、林野などの部門でも活躍が期待されます。

研究内容

生態系では、化学物質を介しての生物・環境相互作用が機能の重要な要素であり、生態系の安定性はこの相互作用によって決定されています。相互作用の化学的解析を行い、的確に生態系機能を評価する手法を開発するとともに、生態系機能の中でも生物地球化学的物質循環プロセスにおいて重要な機能を担っている土壌微生物群集の機能を評価し、これを環境改善に役立てることを主たる目的とした研究を行っています。研究対象は、水と関係した陸上生態系、すなわち、広義の湿地を扱ています。研究対象地は、国内の湿地・河川のほか、熱帯地域や東欧地域の湿地も対象としています。
