My research focuses on the development of methodologies for regional and urban planning that effectively incorporate natural processes and local climates to achieve sustainable relationships between humans and nature. My works are based upon the principles of “landscape ecology,” which explores to create a balance between human activities and ecosystems across a wide range of landscapes, including urban areas, forests, rural regions, waterfronts, and coastal zones.
By monitoring the characteristics of various landscapes—such as biodiversity, topography, hydrology, and cultural background—I aim to develop planning strategies that mitigate the environmental impacts of urbanization, climate change, and resource depletion. These strategies focus on enhancing the resilience of both natural and human systems while maintaining ecological integrity and improving the quality of life for local communities. My approach combines interdisciplinary research and practical applications to address the complex challenges of sustainable planning in diverse environments.
To advance these objectives, I actively secure competitive funding, enabling collaboration with researchers from different fields. This funding supports innovative projects that bridge academic research and policy implementation. My work contributes to the broader field of urban and regional planning by providing evidence-based tools and frameworks that practitioners and policymakers can utilize to design resilient and sustainable communities.
I try to propose solutions that ensure a balance between environmental sustainability and human well-being. Ultimately, my goal is to create planning methodologies that support the coexistence of human societies and rich ecosystems across multiple ecological and spatial scales.
